Step Sixteen- Ayin - '' your spiritual eyes,''

Step Sixteen- Ayin - '' your spiritual eyes,''

The sixteenth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Ayin, represents an eye, and by this time, we are ready to see and experience the 'real' world around us.

We must first understand that behind any organisation, any group and any powerful person on this planet, there is a force working in the spiritual realm.

Whether good or bad, we cannot do anything great by ourselves, as there is a threshold, where this realm starts to intertwine with the 'real' one .

''For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.'' - Ephesians 6:12

Unfortunately, there are many people who still think demons and spirits are just fairy talk.

Opening our eyes to the spiritual realm may be frightening; however, we must remember that we are fighting a cat that likes to roar. Satan was defeated at the cross, the only thing he still does well is pretend and harm people that do not know their place in this food chain. We are at the top, right under God Himself. Remember that!

But how do we actually open our spiritual eyes?

Well, we go back to step one, we make sure they are all covered until now, if the answer is yes, then just appoint a day to meet up with God, somewhere by yourself, fast the entire day, as it's not nice to show up empty handed, and ask your Father to open your eyes in the supernatural realm.

"In that day you will not question Me about anything. (the day He will come back on the clouds) Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.'' - John 16:23

What Is An Unbeliever?

We sometimes sit and wonder what to believe, where life is headed, and why on earth are we doing a 9-5, when we could be out there, front line, helping people, living it to the fullest.

This is something that rarely crosses an unbeliever's mind.

They will most likely worry over the next few days, money, the person they didn't go out with, usual 'life' problems. The difference between these two mind-sets is what makes or breaks a believer.

Long term versus short term, that is the game name, and the rules are in place.

In life, people that tend to worry about their future, who plan ahead, and sacrifice the now for the later, experience satisfying outcomes further down the road. Investments pay off, and the trick to a great life is working hard now, so that we may enjoy the benefits later.

An unbeliever is someone that is not concerned at all about the life after death, or believes a version that puts them in the position of 'god'. You can tell straight away if the mind-set is wrong, as they treat God like someone that owes them something, or they create Him in their mind, and specify how He should be, if He does exist. They forget that if He hadn't thought about them in the first place, they wouldn't even be here. Nobody can exist outside of God's will.

The other types of unbelievers vary a lot, some even still think we got here by evolution, when a simple search of Kent Hovind on YouTube, some popcorn, and a few hours to spare would beg to differ.

The reality of the fight is not visible from city-centres, where everyone is too busy to even stop their minds for a second, and ask the single most important question: 'Why are we here?'

The chase for money and material gain is perfectly normal, thinking the opposite will get you sidelined. Money is the new god, the one who rewards the greedy and punishes the weak.

Unbelievers are rare in this religion. Everyone trusts what they can see, and most will give up the 'later' for 'now'. Choosing instant gratification, even if it has consequences in the future, is deemed necessary, as it releases us from the bondage of consciousness, even if only for a short while.

However, it's easy to go to the other extreme, thinking that God wants us to be poor. This is absolutely NOT true, He wants us to have excess of everything, as long as it doesn't take over us. The problem is again, with us. After having everything we need, and feeling really secure about the future, we slowly forget about God. We don't need Him anymore.

He's not going to repair the car when it breaks down, He's not going to pay the bills, money does this. So if we have money, we have a replacement God that we can use now and here, with visible effects.

It's easy to see why Jesus said that ''It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."- Mark 10:25

Whether it's a house, a car, or just piling money into that bank account, we have to use our judgment and put a limit on aquisitions, and absolutely always give ten percent to God.

Not just the 10% that remains after and if we have anything left, but first and foremost, the first transaction every month has to be that 10% leaving our bank account for spreading the gospel.

How To Treat Unbelievers

Rant aside, no matter what type of unbeliever we are confronted with, we always have to love them to Christ. Our weapon is different, it's unbeatable, it doesn't make sense to the adversary.

Our power is in forgiveness and humility. No matter how hard they hurt us, how much they push our buttons, we must remember that we are not fighting them, but the one behind them.

Short, life changing story:

A Christian had his entire family raped and killed by a radical follower of Islam, he didn't press charges, but the murderer was caught and went to jail. Now most people at this point would not be satisfied with that guy just rotting in a prison cell, they would want him to experience the same ordeal his family went through.

This guy gathered all his life savings, removed all charges, and paid the bail, got the killer out of jail, hugged him, and told him: 'I forgive you! Jesus taught me to do this to everyone who hurts me.'

This guy was so moved and changed, that he dedicated his entire life to this 'new' Jesus, and spreading the good news of the gospel.

This is power. This is what we must preach and teach.

Submitting to God at our lowest point, when nothing else seems to be worth living for… What an amazing story!
